Minka Kelly, the American actress who stars in Abc's forthcoming reboot of 'Charlie's Angels', will remain friends with New York Yankees star Derek Jeter despite ending their three year relationship. Kelly's representative confirmed recent break-up rumours to People Magazine on Thursday (25th August 2011).
News of the split has shocked some fans of the couple, who were rumoured to have become engaged. The famous duo often dodged questions about their future together and were known for keeping their personal life intensely private. The reason for the relationship breakdown is still unclear, but a source close to the actress said, "They care about each other and it was amicable. They're still friends". Kelly, who was recently voted the 'Sexiest Woman Alive' by Esquire Magazine, was previously in relationship with actors Chris Evans and Donald Faison. She briefly dated the blues musician John Mayer but began seeing Jeter after being introduced in May 2008. Jeter's personal life is often hotly discussed in the American media - he famously dated pop superstar Mariah Carey and more recently began a relationship with actress Jessica Biel.
One rumour suggests the couple may have split because of Kelly's hectic work schedule. She is currently filming the highly anticipated Charlie's Angels television series with Annie Iionzeh and RACHAEL TAYLOR
